Starting Childcare
What to expect when your child starts at our centre, and how to prepare.
Before your first day
Starting childcare is a big step for both children and parents. We recommend talking positively about the centre in the weeks leading up to the start date. You might look at photos of the centre together or practise the morning routine so things feel familiar when the day comes.
The settling-in period
We use a gentle, gradual settling-in process. This typically involves short visits with a parent present, followed by short stays without a parent, building up to a full session. Every child is different, and we will follow your child's pace rather than a fixed timetable.
Your key educator
Each child is assigned a key educator who is responsible for their care, development and settling-in. Your key educator is your main point of contact and will get to know your child's preferences, routines and personality.
